Longer Trips -
DEVON GARDENS 8th SEPT 2008 -
4 nights at Derwent Hotel with Airdale, half board, probably £305pp to include
entrances to Kingston Mauerwood, Castle Drogo, Rosemoor, Compton Acres, plus
steam train trip.
| Itinery: Friday 8th September, depart Guildford 0930 - drive to Kingston Maurwood for lunch and then on to Torquay for 4 nights half board at the Derwent Hotel (part of the TLH complex, with excellant facilities - bowling, gym, pools, etc.) Saturday 9th September Steam train from Paignton to Kingswear - 9 miles through glorious countryside. You then have the day to do as you like- ferry to Dartmouth, cruise up the river to Greenway (Agatha Christie's House NT) or come with the coach to Coleton Fishacre, another NT house and garden. As this is a free day only train fare is included (plus coach transportation). Sunday 10th September Coffee at Buckfastleigh. Drive to Castle Drogo (NT) for lunch and afternoon visit. Monday 11th September Exeter am and drive to the RHS Garden in the West Country - Rosemoor for the afternoon. Tuesday 12th September Coffee at one of the best garden centres in the country at Ottery St Mary (very good lunches) and then a drive drive along the Jurassic coast to Compton Acres Garden before going home |

2009 APRIL 2009
I hope to organise a 6 day break
to Nantes travelling by Britany Ferries to visit the Nantes Floralies - one
of Europe's best flower shows. We will also visit Monet's garden, Normandy beaches,
Honfleur, and the city of Caen with its lovely architecture and flowers. Every
time I visit Caen I marvel at the lovely flowers at Parc de Oiseux. We may well
also manage to getto see the Bayeux tapestry or Mont St Michel

SEPTEMBER 2009
Visit the HARROGATE AUTUMN SHOW,
staying at a good centre of YORK hotel - Lady Anne Middleton, visiting Geof
Hamilton's garden Barnsdale on the way to York and Haddon Hall on the way home,
and RHS Garden Harlow Carr in Harrogate plus many other attractions.
